We identify the underlying issues that are affecting your child’s overall health and well-being, so he/she can quickly receive the treatment he/she needs to feel better. We provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.

At Rise Up, some of the most common issues that our child counselors help successfully include: 

    • Emotional and/or psychological issues they are experiencing
    • Change
    • Divorce
    • Grief and the death of a loved one, pet, home, etc.
    • Witnessing or experiencing a trauma event(s)
    • Mental health conditions and psychological distress (i.e. anxiety and depression)
    • Bullying
    • Sexual, emotional, and/or physical abuse
    • Relocation issues (i.e. changing schools, homes, families, and/or cities/states)
    • Academic achievement (i.e. motivation and engagement, manage student and classroom behavior
    • Promotion of positive behaviour and mental health (i.e. improve students communication and social skills, promote problem solving, anger management and conflict resolution, reinforce positive coping skills and resilience)
    • Family substance abuse or addiction
    • Family Support and guidance 
    • Help families understand their child’s learning and mental health needs
